Our trampoline club was established under the banner of The Phoenix Trampoline Club back in 1991 as part of a community scheme to entice children and young adults of the then troubled streets to take part in affordable activities within a controlled environment. To attack the root cause we, along with the support of Telford & Wrekin Leisure Services, engaged with all local schools to develop a school exit and a young leader strategy. At the peak of the programme the club had in excess of 350 performers being coached by 22 qualified coaches in 5 venues. This in simple terms means that from concept our club has been an organisation focussed on community and youth development.
It is our belief and that of our sponsors that we have met and in many areas exceeded all the targets and objectives set by our founding body 25 years ago and that the purpose of our organisation has changed to the point where we are no longer meeting the criteria set out in our constitution. With this in mind we regret to inform you that, under clause 9 of our constitution issue 2 dated 23rd November 2011, the club committee has passed a resolution calling for the dissolution of the club namely The Telford Twisters.
Under clause 9.3 of our constitution all debts and liabilities of the club shall be discharged with the remaining assets transferred to a local community run organisation. We would, where possible, offer support in the creation of a more modern club aligned with the current needs of members however this will need to be a rebranded and stand-alone enterprise.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the people that have made the club such a success over the past decades. This includes committee members, parents, volunteers, schools, Interserve (the leisure company at HLC) and Telford & Wrekin Leisure Services but most of all our members who have been the heartbeat of our club.
